I am the President of Buxton Consulting Ltd. I was employed by the Ministry of Social Development from 1982 to 1987 where I developed skills in vocational assessments, established the first in-house Job Club program in 1982, and provided Employment Services for Income Assistance Clients. Since 1987, Buxton Consulting Ltd. has been providing a full range of Employment Services in various locations including Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, Mission, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Surrey, Langley, Delta, Richmond and Penticton. It has been exciting and rewarding to have worked with exceptional staff over the past 30 years to ensure high quality services that are effective and have always put the Client first. I look forward to meeting the current Employment Services challenges throughout the Fraser Valley and, now, in the Okanagan as well.

I have had the pleasure of working with Management and Staff of Buxton Consulting Ltd. for over 15 years in various positions from Facilitator to being part of the Management Team.  Currently, I manage the WorkSafe Portal, which means supporting the Consultants who work with their clients to assist them in getting back to work by proofing reports, invoicing, and uploading reports to the portal.  I also work as part of the management team, supporting them in what ever way I can.  I have been an Employment Counsellor for over 20 years, and certified in True Colors, Personality Dimensions, and Myers Briggs Type Indicator.

I am fortunate enough to work from home, which, by the way, is in beautiful Miramichi, NB.  Values closest to my heart are honesty and trust; also respect, integrity.  My personal philosophy is “learn from yesterday, live for today, and hope for tomorrow”.

In my spare time, I enjoy music, being with friends and family, and spending time at the shore just listening to the rolling waves.

As a long-time employee of Buxton Consulting, I have been given the opportunity to work in several positions and programs which has led to my current job of Associate Vice-President. As a part of the management team, I have developed a leadership style that allows me to support my fantastic team when they need it, at the same time, encouraging them to grow and thrive in their positions. My work is guided by my primary principle of “do no harm”, followed by my work values of integrity, respect, empathy, and teamwork. In addition to by Diploma in Social Services, and my experiences as a Career Development Practitioner, I recently completed my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies through Royal Roads University. My capstone project focused on inclusion of persons with disabilities in the workforce. My specialization is working with persons of all disability types and those with significant barriers to employment. Working as a bookkeeper in our finance department, I enjoy the daily challenge of making the numbers tell a logical story. As a bookkeeper, I worked for an independent contractor before moving to the Buxton Consulting finance team.  When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and will spend many hours hiding behind a good book. There may also be the occasional game of darts played on my off time.
