Employment Specialist

1 position – Fraser Valley, BC

Provide Skills Training Employment services including:

  • Working with individuals with complex barriers and a broad range of cultural backgrounds

  • Intake and assessments; action plan development; pre-employment services, supports and coaching; job search assistance; indigenous cultural components

  • Develop Skills Training plans

  • Coordinate Employment Experience Services: wage subsidy; direct employer supports; post job placement supports

  • Provide accessible and inclusive one to one meetings and group workshops in person, by phone and through virtual technology methods

  • Administration of participant financial supports

  • Liaise actively with employer and community partners.

  • Conduct outreach with community service organizations

  • Assist in completing reports and evaluations

  • Demonstrated computer skills, proficient in MS Office suite

  • Observe confidentiality and demonstrate ethical standards

 

Education/Skills/Experience:

·         A minimum of 2 years’ acquired experience 

·         Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant discipline

Other Qualifications:

·         Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and reliable vehicle with a clean driver’s abstract

·         Vulnerable sector criminal record check

·         Facilitation experience would be an asset
